Ying H. Yen

Ying H. Yen ’95CC has three decades of experience leading diverse organizations, including an investment management firm, five non-profit organizations, and a children’s education company. She is currently the executive director of the New York Chinese Cultural Center, a nonprofit arts organization, as well as the CEO of A Brighter Future LLC, an education company teaching presentation and leadership skills in young children. Previously, Ying was in investment management for almost  two decades as a portfolio manager and senior executive at Cedarpoint Capital Management managing foundation endowments and investments for high-net-worth individuals.

An active volunteer for her alma mater Columbia University, she serves as president of the Asian Columbia Alumni Association, ex-officio board member of Columbia College Alumni Association, and former board member of the Columbia Alumni Association. She has served on several other boards, including the U.S. Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Development Centers Advisory Board representing New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to advise the Administrator on ways the federal government can support small businesses and entrepreneurs. She was a board member of the Asian Financial Society and led its Investment Group.

Ying received her BA from Columbia University, graduating summa cum laude and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and was a CFA® Charterholder (1998-2016). She resides with her husband and two children in New Jersey.
