Henry P. Monaghan

Henry Monaghan’s academic career has focused on the Supreme Court and the jurisdiction of the federal courts.  In addition, he has argued numerous cases in the federal courts, including the Supreme Court.  He is also a longstanding member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.  

Monaghan graduated from a community college and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and holds law degrees from Yale University and Harvard University.  He taught at Yale University, Cornell University, and Harvard University.  Until he resigned his chair (not his professorship), he was for three decades the Harlan Fiske Stone Professor of Constitutional Law.
