Ana Maria Kelly

Ana Maria Kelly is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Columbia University. She has taught courses in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Leadership and Pharmacology over the past 10 years at Columbia. Kelly's previous research has focused on patient-centered care for persons with HIV and drug-resistant tuberculosis in southern Africa and she was the first faculty member in the School of Nursing to receive a Fulbright Award. Kelly was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and was honored with an Inspiring Nurse Award by Nurses with Global Impact. Kelly is the Lead Faculty Liaison for Columbia Nursing’s global clinical integration program, supporting students across sites in Africa, Asia and South America. She is passionate about encouraging her nursing students to connect deeply with the material through humor and real-world experience.

Kelly received her BSN and PhD from Michigan State University.
